Billed as the largest St. Paddy's Day event in Central Texas, the 2013 St Patrick's Day Festival in Austin is taking place on Sunday, March 17 at the Shoal Crossing Event Center in North Austin.

This massive event celebrates St. Patrick's Day in Austin and will feature a full day of authentic Irish tradition, live music from some of the best celtic bands and performers in the area, children's activities, and more.

The 2013 St Patrick's Day Festival in Austin will kick off at 11:45 with a full lineup of Irish performances throughout the day, topped off with an electrifying show from local pioneers of authentic Irish music, Goitse (pronounced gwi-cha).  This legendary 5-piece band features accordion, banjo, fiddle, and more with famous, foot-stomping tunes that have been performed everywhere from America to Emerald Isle.

In addition to the headlining performance from Goitse, the 2013 St Patrick's Day Festival in Austin will feature performances from groups including the Irish-born James Keane performing with Jeff Moore and Jonathan Milton, Raising Jane, Flashpoint, The Capital City Men's Chorus, The Tea Merchants, the Inishfree Irish Dance Troupe, Clickety Cloggers, and more.

There will also be a handful of children's activities on hand to keep the little ones occupied.   From 1 to 5 p.m., kids can enjoy the Children's Play Area which will feature state of the art video game theaters with indoor and outdoor screens as well as a Children's Storybook Hour with the Gaelic League of Austin from 1 to 2 p.m.

Adult tickets to the 2013 St Patrick's Day Festival in Austin are $9 in advance and $12 at the door.  Kids tickets are $2 in advance for children under 13 and $5 at the door.
