Fiestas Patrias of Austin is gearing up to host their 8th Annual Cinco de Mayo Fiesta taking place at Fiesta Gardens Park in Downtown Austin from May 4-5, 2013.

This annual celebration of Cinco de Mayo in Austin will commemorate the rich culture, heritage, and history of Mexico including its victory from France in 1862, the reason this longstanding culture celebrates the holiday of Cinco de Mayo.

Kicking off on Saturday, May 4, the 2013 Cinco de Mayo Fiesta will feature a rich assortment of authentic Mexican eats, traditional live music and entertainment, vendors, and more for all to enjoy.

The Fiesta will feature a variety of Tejano and Conjunto bands playing traditional instruments like accordion and bajo sexto guitar throughout the two days of the festival.  Bands and artists set to perform include Gary Hobbs, Da Krazy Pimpzs, Baraja de Oro, Joel Guzman y Sara Fox, Los Fantasmas del Valle, Yayo Castillo y grupo Rumores, and many more.

In addition, the Cinco de Mayo Fiesta will host the Show Ur Ride Ese Car Show featuring some of the coolest cars, trucks, and more in the area as well as the International High School Dance Team performing traditional Mexican dances and more.

There will be tons of traditional, Mexican food on sale for all to enjoy as well as hamburgers, barbecue brisket, hot spicy chicken wings, corn on the cob and more throughout Fiesta Gardens Park.
