Prince Nite IV: Foot Patrol presents Prince's groundbreaking album "1999" in its entirety
1999 was released on October 27, 1982 and was Prince's first top ten album on the Billboard charts. Many consider 1999 to be his breakthrough album, perhaps a glimpse of things to come in Purple Rain, his most successful outing. Its synth-and-drum machine-heavy arrangements codified the Minneapolis sound that loomed over mid 80’s R&B and pop. It’s ranked number 163 on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Join us as we smellabrate this seminal album and take a New Year’s bite of the purple rock!
