With all of the new development happening around Austin, and specifically right here on Congress Avenue, it's truly remarkable that Austin's original performing arts venue has stood the test of time. But we did it! In 2015, the Paramount reached 100 years. Very few places in Austin can make this claim. The Paramount stands as a part of the cultural landscape that makes Austin unique. So visit us downtown, and bring the kids!
So what's new? For Amplify Austin 2016, our focus is the children that come through our doors all year long. Your contribution today will underwrite scholarships to Camp Paramount this summer for children who wouldn't otherwise be able to afford the program.
Each year, we serve nearly 22,000 children, including 5,500 directly in Austin-area classrooms. We have active partnerships with more than 100 schools throughout Central Texas, as well as 40 nonprofits dedicated to Austin's underserved youth. Our programs inspire students to innovate, improving literacy and subject retention rates and encouraging students to contribute to the city's cultural life.
