At this workshop series, you develop your foundation in fundamental JavaScript. This four week series will develop your knowledge to better prepare you for our Technical Interview. We will learn new concepts each week and the series will start over again each month.
Topics:
Week 1: JavaScript101
Week 2: Functions & Scope
Week 3: Arrays & Objects --
Week 4: Loops & Logic
Through this series, you'll learn how to tackle some of the biggest challenges faced by those learning JavaScript. This includes the mechanics and how to compose and use functions, how local and global scoping works, and how the scope chain affects how you build JavaScript programs. This is a highly interactive course that uses exercises and projects to drive home these JavaScript Fundamentals.
This workshop is for beginners with limited JavaScript experience.
Optional Prep:
Udacity's Intro to JavaScript course (estimated 10-12 hours to complete)
Gordon Zhu’s Watch and Code up to and including “Interlude - Data types and comparisons”
First four chapters of Eloquent JavaScript
What to bring:
Students will need to bring their own laptops! Windows, Mac or Linux will do it!
Location:
Galvanize is located at the northeast corner of 2nd Street and Nueces Street.
Parking:
Parking is $5 in the Northshore garage after 6 PM weekdays.
