Join us for Austin Fashion Initiative's (AFI) monthly meetup at Austin's newest co-working space: The Riveter where we'll be featuring an in-conversation chat with Monxi Garza of local Austin brand SUAVS shoes.

At this event we'll be exploring new business development trends within the fashion industry in the context of developing category disrupting brands for specfic use. In the spirit of summer travel season, our in-conversation with Monxi Garza of SUAVS will explore the development of her footwear brand, and how her shoe is quickly becoming the go-to travel sneaker. Our conversation will take us into the inspiration behind launching her brand, how she continually iterates based on data and consumer feedback, and how she prioitizes her opportunities to position her brand for growth.
Investors are now turing their attention to the fashion industry in a way like never before, building from the trends that have emerged from the success of consumer packaged goods, category disrupting brands like Warby Parker and AWAY, and sustained growth in both the value and luxury segments of the market. These trends are now colliding with the tradional fashion industry, with serious implications for how new brands grow and develop.
