Description
Confituras offers intensive canning classes at their commercial kitchen space as well as at urban farms and shops around town and provides free demonstrations at farmers’ markets and non-profit organizations.
Event Details
Join stephanie mcclenny of jam & preserves company, confituras, as we announce our first canning class at our new little kitchen, canning 101: peach preserves! We will use the freshest peaches at the height of the season - we're talking conserves, butters, and straight-up jams!
In this hands on class we will take you through the basics of canning safety, equipment, fruit selection, and most importantly, the balance of flavor and sweetness in jam-making. everyone takes home a jar of preserves from the class. Learn skills you'll keep for a lifetime and come preserve the bounty with us!
This event is BYOB and light refreshments (biscuits, anyone?) will be served!
