Central Texas Dyslexia Conference 2019: Your Story is Your Strength
Event Details
The Central Texas Dyslexia Conference 2019, "Your Story is Your Strength" is a free conference for families, educators, individuals with dyslexia, and other professionals.
Our keynote speaker is Don M. Winn, an award-winning author, speaker, radio show host, dyslexia advocate. As a person with dyslexia, who well knows the challenge of learning to love to read, Don's goal is to write books for children that are so engaging they will entice even the most reluctant or struggling reader.
Participants will have opportunities to attend break-out sessions on topics such as multisensory grammar, phonemic awareness, morphology, intervention in Spanish, assistive technology with Microsoft and Google, understanding evaluations, dyslexia + executive functioning, dysgraphia, reading fluency and connections to comprehension, orthographic awareness, multisensory spelling, dyslexia within Section 504 and SPED, SEL (social-emotional learning) considerations and a dyslexia simulation.
Certified Academic Language Therapists are invited to attend a pre-conference session the morning of the conference.
Boxed lunches will be available for purchase onsite should you want to attend one of the lunch and learn sessions. CEUs and ALTA hours will be available for educators.
