You Are Valid: The Journey of Self-Discovery Zine Release Party

Each year, Color Squad teen artists create a zine that reflects a yearly theme to allow space for each member to reflect on their personal exploration of the topic before creating a mural at the end of the school year.

This year's theme focuses on LGBTQIA+ advocacy, and the zine, "You Are Valid: The Journey of Self-Discovery," features artwork responding to the journey of self-empowerment and discovery and the topic of identity, and its validation or lack thereof.

Join us to celebrate the work’s release and meet the artists, all while sipping delicious, rainbow-themed mocktails and partaking in identity-related arts activities. Please RSVP via the link above to give an accurate headcount for the event.

Proceeds of the zine sale will benefit Kind Clinic and QueerBomb, two local, pro-LGBTQIA+ organizations.

ABOUT COLOR SQUAD
Color Squad engages civic-minded teen artists to transform public spaces and explore relevant social issues through original murals, sculptures, art installations, zines, and more. Students collaborate with professional artists and community partners and build artistic, social emotional, and leadership skills as they research and design public art projects for the community.
