The most beautiful & loved pigs in Central Texas are ready to laissez les bon temps rouler!
Join us for our 2nd Annual PIG PAGEANT, a body positivity celebration for pigs! This year's pageant will be a true Mardi Gras SPECTACLE! The pageant will feature human entertainment, incredible compassionate cuisine, all leading up to the featured event where pet pigs will strut their stuff down a red carpet pigwalk, showcasing their unique personalities and attitudes!
The CTPR Pig Pageant is a fundraiser and advocacy event focusing on a message of body positivity for pigs and fighting the “micro pig myth.” Pet pigs are often purchased from breeders under the false premise that the pig will stay small. This misinformation leads to a rampant issue of mistreatment and abandonment. Over 90% of pet pigs are sent to livestock auctions or re-homed over their lifetime, causing emotional stress for the pigs and overburdening sanctuaries.
This event aims to showcase that pigs are valued family members at any size, to show the complexities of pig parenthood, and to create greater compassion for pigs of all kinds.
