Description
Participants will be shown a few basic techniques for creating the “base” or sub-structure of the headdress,. They will choose which type they would like to create. Each student will create his/her own headdress to take home using materials provided.
Event Details
Materials will include feathers, flowers, sequins, paint, glitter, found objects, wire, paper, hot glue, headbands, fabric scraps, ribbon, trims, yarn, and anything else participants might want to bring from home.

Cost: $80 paid in advance through pre-registration + $50 supply cost paid at the start of class
Ages: Middle school, high school, adult.
NOTE: Advanced registration and payment required by October 19. No walk-ins. This class has met the three student minimum. Maximum accepted: 10.
Ruta holds a BA in Humanities with a Studio Art focus from Rice University, and an MFA in Visual Studies from Pacific Northwest College of Art . She has a background in studio art, as well as contemporary dance and choreography, costume design and construction, photography and video, and performative art. She has always been a maker, and her current pursuit is her custom headdress and mask business.
