This State Certified Course is a requirement to obtain a Texas License to Carry a firearm.
The State requires you qualify with 50 rounds of factory ammunition. Please bring weapon and ammo for the range, and note taking material for the classroom portion. There will be a State mandated written test and shooting qualification that each applicant must pass. Must show a valid Texas State ID or a valid Texas State Driver’s License to attend.
Class will start at 0830 at the ALERRT Range and will conclude by 1330 hours. Please bring your own snacks and drinks. Weapons can be rented for $30.00 but you must provide the ammo in 9mm or 40 cal. and must be reserved in advance. The state certification is good for 2 years from the date of completion and is a requirement of the state to apply for your license.
For those with limited handgun experience, an Introduction to Armed Conflict Resolution Course is provided for an additional $40.00 and will go to approximately 1530 hours. You are not required to attend this class for your TEXAS LTC*.
*If you are not familiar with the operation of your firearm or you are a new shooter, you should sign up for the Introduction to Armed Conflict Resolution Course. This course will give you the foundation to build your firearms safety and the skills required to be a “responsibly armed citizen”.
