History of the Location: When the original town of San marcos was founded in 1851, one of the original surveyors who laid out the town was Col. William Lindsey, of the Texas Militia. He lived on the site now occupied by Lindsey Lofts, Wells Fargo Parking, and Railyard Bar and Grill. During the 1940's, San Marcos was almost all agricultural businesses. One of the first farm supply operations sprang up on this site---known as the "San Marcos Implement Company" They sold and repaired farm machinery, farm trucks and it was a meeting place for all the "old timers" to discuss the weather. In the 70's, the building was torn down and the site remained dormant until the "Railyard Bar and Grill" took this historic piece of downtown to create a new landmark for future San Marcos residents.
