About North Austin

If you are new to Austin, it is sometimes difficult to decide where to "mark your terriroty". North Austin has plenty to offer for the single professional and for families. There are not many night clubs as seen downtown, but there are quite a few places to enjoy a day or night out.
If you are in to Karaoke, North Austin has a club dedicated to karaoke, Common Interest off of Burnet Road. Located in a shopping center, not too far from the exit off of 183, you will also find a pool hall, an Indian Restaurant, and a small "shot bar". If you travel further down Burnet away from 183, you will find Ichibaun, a newly reopened sushi restaurant that has many choices for the newly Sushi goer or for sushi eaters looking for a new roll to try.
North Austin also has some of the best upscale shopping locations. The Domain located off of 183 and Braker consists of many "high-end" stores such as Gucci, but also has stores for the average shopper like Apple and Victoria's Secret. The Arboretium located on Great Hills Trail and 183 has stores and restaurants on both sides of 183 such as the The Cheesecake Factory, TGIFridays, Serranos, and many clothing stores such as The Gap and Express.
If shopping is not your activity of choice, and you are into the "great outdoors" Jollyville Road has some of the best views of the hills and trees. Night or day, you will see joggers and bikers making their way up and down this road. If you have pets, feel free to take them with you as this is one of the most pet friendly areas of Austin!
You do not have to live in the middle of downtown to enjoy nightlife and Austin culture, you can get everything you desire right here in North Austin.
