Faylita Hicks (pronouns: she/her/they) is a black queer writer. Her debut poetry collection, HoodWitch, is forthcoming October 15, 2019. In April of 2017, Faylita Hicks quit her full-time job at a call center and started Arrondi Creative Productions, her event production company. The company began to host several events in the Central Texas area and eventually led her to start The Ripple Market, a multi-faceted event that caters to artists in need of professional development and companies that are looking for up and coming artists to collaborate with. With over 18+ years as an actress, spoken word artist, emcee, writer and visual artist, Hicks has a unique perspective on what it takes to live sustainably as an artist in today's social media world.
