    Description

Permanently Closed.. North by Northwest Restaurant and Brewery is filled with great food and great brews. And yes - we brew them all right here!

North by Northwest came into existence from an idea that I had many years ago – that great craft brewed beer and fabulous food could come together in a fun and interesting atmosphere.

I chose the name North by Northwest because I wanted to convey the image of the Northwest where many brew pubs and micro-breweries got their start. Once settling on the name, the architecture and the image flowed naturally. Stone and wood are combined with the high vaulted ceiling to create the feel of those great lodges in our Northwest National parks. We have urbanized it a bit with the steel structure and industrial designed light fixtures. The Brewery Tower is a prominent feature along with the NXNW grain silos. The one directly in front of the Brewery Tower is a functioning silo full of 25,000 lbs. of barley – the major component of the beer-making process. All the beers at NXNW are brewed right on site inside the Tower.

So this is where my first fateful taste of a truly great German beer in 1984 has led. I hope you have a great time here at North by Northwest. Please feel free to let us know what you liked and what we can do better. North by Northwest is my dream but it's for you our customer to enjoy.

We had an excellent experience at this place! I met a friend of mine for lunch on a beautiful Saturday afternoon at NxNW. We sat outside in a cozy outdoor area. What I liked about the outdoor area was that you couldn't even tell that the restaurant was positioned at a fairly busy intersection. They did a great job with the landscaping in order to insulate you. Our server was outstanding! She was highly attentive without being annoying. To start off, since neither of us had been there before, we had the beer sampler. I highly recommend doing this for first timers. That way you can pick the best beer. I'm sorry to say that the beer is where I had my first complaint. I was surprised that about a third of them were lacking taste. I ended up settling on the seasonal brew. In my opinion, they should add that to their standard repertoire. As for the food, I was highly impressed! The quality was outstanding, especially for the price. Most lunch items were under $10.00. I got the portabello mushroom flatbread wrap, and it was wonderful! I highly recommend it!

    Pros: Great Food

Cons: A little pricey but it's worth it.
