The First Tee of Greater Austin (TFTGA) hosts the annual More Than A Game Backyard Party on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at UT Golf Club. The al fresco event is hosted by chairs Kelly and Jonathan Davison, Paula and Brock Purslow, and Mandy Myers, and will bring together celebrity golfers, local musicians, former University of Texas athletes, and advocates of TFTGA. Guests will enjoy an evening of live music from Suede Austin, chef-driven food and drink pairing stations, and a silent and live auction under the stars. Look for one-of-a-kind offerings in the live auction with Heath Hale Auctioneers.
The annual party, in conjunction with the More Than A Game Captain’s Cup Celebrity Golf Tournament on Monday, November 20, 2017, serves as the organization’s largest fundraiser. TFTGA provides educational programs to area youth that build character, instill life-enhancing values, and promote healthy choices through the game of golf. The organization focuses on nine core values – honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy, and judgment – which can be applied on the course, at home, and at school. More than 1,000 children enrolled in local First Tee programs last year alone, and one hundred percent of them needed some level of subsidy.
