Enthusiasts and professionals of all kinds will be excited to know that South by Southwest 2019 is coming to Austin from March 8 through 17. The conference and its festivals have been an annual staple since 1987 as well as at the forefront of interactive, technology, film, and music industries by hosting hot exhibitions, screenings, showcases, sessions, and featured speakers.

Featured speakers for last year’s South by Southwest included Bernie Sanders, Spike Lee, Nile Rodgers, and Christiane Amanpour. It's yet to announced who will be speaking at the 2019 conference, but stay tuned to the SXSW News page for announcements as well as general updates for the week-long event.

If you haven't been to South by Southwest, you can get a sense of what it's like by checking out this video from last year's conference:

The South by Southwest conference includes 25 “tracks,” or areas of knowledge across four broader subjects. Their three main areas are film, music, and interactive.

In addition to the general conference and expo subjects, South by Southwest has expanded to include the SXSW EDU Conference from March 4 to 7 and SXSW Gaming Conference and Expo.

As far as festivals at South by Southwest go, there are five different ones by topic: interactive, film, music, gaming, and comedy. There are also seven themed exhibitions that South by Southwest 2019 will offer: SXSW Art Program, a wellness expo, trade show, virtual cinema, flatstock, SXSW Marketplace, and a gaming expo.
