Event Details
The 2020 Small Business Contracting Forum will include:
Information about millions of dollars in procurement opportunities
Ability to interact with City of Austin Purchasing Office staff and subject matter experts from over 100 invited City of Austin Departments along with area cities and counties.
TECH Talk: Exploring Technology Opportunities: Learn about the opportunities to provide the technology to make the City of Austin run. You will meet City senior IT leaders and hear their priorities.
Breakout sessions designed to help you:
1. How to Register with the City of Austin-learn about how to register as a vendor to do business with the City of Austin
2. Get Paid: City of Austin Vendor Payment Process-required information to get paid by the City of Austin
3. Creating Responsive Bids, Proposals and Offers-discover how to respond to solicitations issued by the Purchasing Office (focus on IFBs and RFPs)
4. BizAid Business Orientation – overview of nonprofit and government resources to help you start or grow your small business
5. Runway to Opportunities: Austin Airport Capital Expansion Program-learn about the Austin Bergstrom Expansion Program
6. Resources Roadmap: Growing Your Business-recognize nonprofit and government resources available
7. Job Order Contracting -understand the City of Austin’s Job contract opportunities for maintenance, alteration, renovation, remediation and minor construction/repairs of City facilities.
8. Search for Success: Navigating Austin Finance Online-learn to research related contracts and solicitations.
9. Certification 101: An Overview of Minority- and/or Women-Owned Business Enterprise Certifications -provides attendees with an overview of the various types of certifications available to small businesses who are interested in doing work with local, state, or federal government.
