Description

We want to extend a personal invitation to our teatro familia to attend a pre-show reception and performance for the world premiere of There and Back, by Austin playwright Raul Garza on Saturday, August 18.

Event Details

Hola,

During our stint as artistic and executive directors of  Teatro Vivo, we produced several of Raul's plays because his work was smart, timely, entertaining and above all thought-provoking. You may remember these productions – Fantasmaville, Dos Pocitos, Cura, Confessions of a Mexpatriate and EL.  Well, Raul has done it again with There and Back. This culturally relevant play opens up a dialogue about the current immigration crisis with an eye towards the history between the US Government and Mexican immigrants.  We particularly love that one of the characters is a "liberated, contemporary Virgen de Guadalupe."
